We treat pregnancy-related pain such as round ligament pain, SIJ pain, pubic symphysis dysfunction, back pain, carpal tunnel & more. With a focus on both prevention and relief. Early in pregnancy, we prioritize proactive care to reduce future discomfort. Later, we address specific issues with targeted therapy and the most up to date clinical evidence to ensure your pregnancy and birth is optimal.

Our birth preparation services include personalized assessments to identify potential risks, like labour interventions or perineal tearing. We create tailored exercises and strategies to support a smoother birth and recovery, ensuring care for both mother and baby. We prepare for both vaginal and/or cesarean births through education, as well as incorporating hands on techniques as needed to create more space for baby to move down and out.

We provide expert care for pelvic pain, including conditions such as endometriosis, pain with sex, menstrual pain, vaginismus and more. Our evidence-based approach focuses on addressing the nervous system and developing skills to understand and manage pain.

Our goal is to help you reduce pain, restore balance, and build confidence in your body by addressing the root causes of your discomfort. Through personalized care and clear guidance, we support you in improving your overall quality of life and moving forward with greater ease.

We focus on hands on relief through a variety of techniques including cupping, myofascial release, dry needling, massage & more.

The Cesarean Section Release Method is a transformative technique including extensive assessments of posture, function and breath in women who have undergone abdominal surgeries like c sections (although not exclusive to, this technique can be tailored to endometriosis management, fertility support, nervous system regulation & so much more).

This technique is one of our personal favourites as we truly feel it incorporates a whole body, mental-physical view which helps us to treat women and have lasting change on their bodies, whether they are 12 weeks post partum or 12 years.

We work to mobilise the scar through breath, massage techniques, cupping, dry needling, and so much more. Alongside this hands on treatment is a large underlying theme of emotional connection. By addressing the physical restrictions coming from your scar, we often open up emotional pathways and possibly stagnant traumas.

This can be powerful for women to experience and being able to facilitate this is an incredible privelege for the practitioner. We are absolutely committed to nurturing our women through every part of their journey back to themselves.

Appointments can be in person or online.

Some limitations lie with online consults as this restricts our ability to do internal exams; however, much of our appointment initially is gaining an extensive history as well as education.

If an online consult is where we begin, but we feel by the end of that consult that an internal exam is needed, I am happy to refer and consult with other pelvic floor physiotherapists closer to you, or arrange for you to visit me in clinic.

More about
our mission

My name is Anna, the creator of Rua.

I created Rua as a way to individualise my care for women in pelvic health physiotherapy.

I studied a bachelor of health science (physiotherapy) as my undergraduate degree, I then went on to attend and certify in Introductory and Advanced Pelvic Health courses through Dr Melissa Davidson. In the years following I completed many courses through Auckland University of Technology, such as my certificate in Dry Needling, Sideline Sports Medicine, Advanced Assessment and Treatment of a Sporting Spine and Pelvis & so on. I worked on my craft and then eventually branched into more holistic avenues such as myofascial therapies and trauma informed care, with my most recent and favourite certificate being completed in The Cesarean Release Method (TCRM) through Body Lane Certification - a course that has ultimately made me the practitioner I am today.

I know I can use therapeutic techniques to relieve discomfort and through assessment I can predict and prevent discomfort based on how the individuals body currently functions and how the hormonal change of their current or upcoming stage of life may impact that.

I have spoken to so many women, listened to their stories, their trauma and heard their cries, and I have quickly learnt that I am not just a physiotherapist for these women.

I create a service and provide care that is exceptional, I hold space for women where they have long been dismissed, and to allow women to feel the power of their bodies through understanding and compassion.

My goal is to educate the current conversation from a clinical standpoint in a way that allows women to feel heard, seen & loved all while they are also recieveing expert level care. I am here to sieve out the misinformation and provide a service that really listens to women and their needs as they transition through different stages.

So welcome to Rua. Thank you for being here.
